As the Syrian army backed by local militias punches its way into East Aleppo, the desperation in Western capitals is clearly visible. Publicly claiming to be opposed to the terrorists, their actions belie their statements.
Tarek Fatah has gained notoriety for his foul-mouthed language against Muslims, especially those of Pakistani origin. Because of his anti-Muslim and anti-Pakistan stance, he has become a darling of the Zionists and Hindu chauvinists.
Against all odds, Donald Trump’s bigotry against Hispanics, Latinos, Muslims and Sikhs has catapulted him to the White House. His extremist vitriol made him quite popular among evangelical Christian Zionists, ultra-right wing White extremists and even the White middle class.
1The Ansarallah fighter’s missile strike at a Saudi air base near Jeddah has sent the Saudi regime into frenzied panic. The Bani Saud have unleashed their paid agents worldwide accusing the Houthis (the label used for Ansarallah fighters) of firing the missile at the Kaaba with the intention of destroying Islam’s holiest site. Nothing could be further from the truth but as the saying goes, a lie is half way around the world before truth has had a chance to tie its shoelaces.
2Donald Trump’s stunning victory has left not only the American establishment but the rest of the world also shell-shocked. This is not how it was supposed to have worked out.
3A meeting in Toronto on November 5, 2016, commemorated the July 8 tragic killing of young resistance leader, Burhan Wani. He was 22 when shot and killed by Indian occupation forces in a remote village. Two of his colleagues were also killed in the late night raid.
3The first Battle of Kunduz took place from April to October 2015 for control of the city, where Taliban forces were playing cat and mouse for months and finally overran the city, forcing government forces to flee. The capture marked the first time since 2001 that the Taliban had taken control of a major city in Afghanistan. The Afghan government claimed to have largely recaptured Kunduz by October 1 in a counterattack. But by 6 October, the Taliban had recaptured substantial portions of Kunduz.
1After several months of selfless work by individuals seeking no worldly benefit whatsoever, with minimal material resources, we are grateful to Allah (SWT) that we have finally put together a new website for our readers. We hope to continue serving as we have been for the past 45 years and like Imam Hussein (RA) we are also crying out, "Is there anyone to help us?" How does one can help? Please donate, share our material or write for us from time to time.
5Dark clouds hover over Pakistan's political landscape. Chief of Tehrik-e Insaf, Imran Khan has threatened to lay siege to Islamabad while Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif faces growing pressure on many fronts including corruption charges stemming from Panama leaks and tense civilian-military relations. The former army chief, General Mirza Aslam Beg, sees parallels between this and the 1977 agitation that led to Bhutto's overthrow by the military.
1In an otherwise bleak political landscape for Muslims, there was some good news yesterday when a motion condemning Islamophobia won unanimous approval in the Canadian Parliament. The motion was presented by NDP leader Tom Mulcair.
2Sectarianism is destructive whether indulged in by Sunnis or Shias. It is important for Muslims to be on guard not to fall into this trap since it only benefits the enemies of Islam. In the month of Muharram, some Shia preachers have a tendency to resort to the worst aspects of sectarianism. Such acts do not advance the cause of Islam.
2With failure staring them in the face in their ill-conceived military campaign against Yemen, the Saudi regime has intensified attacks on civilians. Their latest outrage was committed on October 8 when more than 140 civilians were killed and some 525 injured in a missile strike on a gathering at a funeral ceremony. The Saudis have murdered more than 10,000 civilians in Yemen since March 2015. There are 22 million people facing starvation.
2For the first time during Barack Obama's presidency, the US Congress has overridden his veto of a bill. It relates to the Congress approving a bill that would allow families of 911 victims to sue Saudi Arabia and seek compensation for their losses. The Saudis are shell shocked and cannot believe what has happened despite spending tens of millions of dollars in lobbying efforts.
3Shimon Peres, who served twice as Israel's prime minister and once as president, died earlier today. Who was Peres and what was his role in the Israeli war machine are subjects that need closer scrutiny despite the hypocritical accolades being heaped on his after his death.
1Eid al Adha commemorates the sacrifice of Prophets Ibrahim and Ismail (as). As Muslims celebrate this great event, they must keep in mind that without sacrifice, nothing can be achieved. In fact, the trials and tribulations demanding sacrifices are the pre-requisites to get closer to Allah subhanahu wa taala.
1By arresting the leading human rights activist in Indian occupied Kashmir, India wants to hide the ugly reality of its crimes against the Kashmiri people. This will only intensify the determination of the Kashmiri people to overthrow the yoke of Hindu hegemony and occupation. No occupation has lasted forever; India's will certainly not last too long either. Indian crimes in Kashmir may result in the disintegration of India itself.
2In tandem with the US establishment dominated by the neo-cons, the US media has drummed up support for the latest war-mongering plans. The people have been scared into believing that there are takfiris sleeper cells in the US that pose serious danger to every American. Most Americans have been scared into supporting military aggression against countries in the Middle East.
The Obama regime has announced an increased military aid package--$38 billion over the next tens years--to the Zionist entity even as it kills and maims Palestinians at an alarming rate. This makes the US complicit in Zionist crimes.
1In his annual Hajj message to pilgrims this year, the Rahbar, Imam Seyyed Ali Khamenei was very forthright about the culpability of the Saudi regime in the crush at Mina that killed more than 4700 pilgrims. He called for taking control of Hajj affairs away from the Saudis who have shown total disregard for the hujjaj's safety and the sanctity of the Haram.
1Is this man (shown in the picture) fit to issue fatwas about who is a Muslim and who is not? This man, the so-called of mufti of 'Saudi' Arabia, is blind and believes the earth is flat and that men can cannibalize their wives. Can Muslims really take him seriously? Further, the Saudi rulers have serious character flaws that make them unfit to be in control of the affairs of Hajj.
