Thousands rally for Palestine in Toronto

Crescent International

In one of the largest rallies in living memory for Palestine was held in Toronto today (October 21).

It was organized by the Palestine Youth Movement (PYM), one of a series of rallies since October 9.

There were also rallies in other cities including Hamilton (ON) and Brantford (ON).

Long before the 2 pm start of the rally, people had started to assembly in front of the US embassy in Toronto.

The intersection opposite the US consulate was totally packed with people from all walks of life.

Parents came with young children, many in strollers to express solidarity because a large number of children have been murdered by the zionist war criminals in Gaza.

According to Middle East Eye, in the two-week period since October 7, Israel has murdered more than 1,700 children.

Children that have survived the zionists’ murderous onslaught suffer from extreme anxiety and trauma.

They wake up the in the middle of the night screaming in fear.

The rally underscored yet again that while all western regimes have unashamedly supported the zionist war-criminals, the masses refuse to follow their lead.

This is true in Canada as it is in the US and Europe.

On October 19, hundreds of members of the Jewish community in the US occupied the Congress building in Washington DC.

They had two demands: immediate ceasefire and the opening of a relief corridor into Gaza to send desperately needed supplies of water, food, medicines and fuel.

At least 300 were arrested by the police.

In Toronto, the now-familiar chants were heard.

“From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be Free,” “Netanyahu you will see, Palestine will be free,” and “End the siege of Gaza, End the occupation.”

Several speakers at the rally called for an end to financial, military and political support to the zionist entity.

On Friday October 20, when Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau went to a Mosque in West Toronto to speak to the congregation during Jumuah Salat, he was booed and the congregation would not allow him to speak.

They wanted to know why Trudeau had refused to support a ceasefire and an end to the barbaric siege of Gaza.

Trudeau was visibly shaken.

He had not anticipated the degree of anger in the Muslim community.

He has repeatedly hurled the nonsensical allegation that Hamas is a terrorist organization in order to appease the zionist lobby.

Yet he has not had the decency to condemn zionist barbarism against innocent Palestinian families, especially the children in Gaza.

It was appalling that he would then show up at a mosque hoping to be warmly received.

He has taken the Muslim community for granted.

The Toronto rally was also a slap in Trudeau’s face that he continues to display such total disregard for the lives of Palestinians, including children.

He peddles zionist lies and vile propaganda.

The Muslim community and its friends and allies have served notice that they have had enough of the Liberals’ hypocrisy.
