Ayman AhmedThe announcement by Benjamin Netanyahu’s office that he had “secretly visited” the UAE in March at the height of the US-zionist war on Iran and met UAE president Mohammed bin Zayed has caused huge embarrassment in Abu Dhabi. The May 13 announcement on X also said the indicted war criminal’s meeting had led to a “historic breakthrough”.
The UAE foreign ministry denied the zionist claim saying it was “entirely unfounded”. Few believed the Emiratis. Abu Dhabi insisted relations between the two countries were not based on “unofficial arrangements”.
They did not, however, deny the May 12 statement by US ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee that Israel sent its anti-missile Iron Dome batteries to help it combat Iranian attacks. Huckabee, a Christian zionist, is a staunch supporter of the zionist expansionist project.
The US envoy said the Iron Dome deployment was the result of an “extraordinary relationship between the UAE and Israel” based on the Abraham Accords. This is the first time that the much-touted Iron Dome has been deployed outside Israel. It is manned and operated by the Israelis.
Of the six members of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), the UAE and tiny Bahrain have shown the greatest hostility towards the Islamic Republic of Iran. All GCC member states and others—Iraq, Jordan and Egypt—host US military bases on their soil. These bases have been used to launch attacks on Iran’s civilian infrastructure.
The US-zionist war criminals targeted schools, universities, hospitals, apartment buildings, bridges and oil refineries in Iran. These constitute war crimes.
The US-zionist onslaught resulted in 3,375 people being killed in Iran between February 28 and April 7. This was revealed by the head of Iran’s Legal Medicine Organization Abbas Masjedi Arani. Tens of thousands of others were injured.
Two of the most dastardly crimes were carried out on the first day of the illegal and unprovoked war. In one attack on the girls school in Menab, southwestern Iran, 168 young school girls were martyred.
The same day, the zionist war criminals carried out a missile strike on Iran’s Supreme Leader Seyyed Ali Khamenei’s compound. He was martyred together with his daughter, daughter-in-law, son-in-law and several grandchildren. Also martyred were a number of senior military and revolutionary guards commanders.
Damage caused to Iran’s infrastructure has been estimated at $270 billion. Tehran has demanded compensation from the Arabian dictators because of their complicity in US-zionist war crimes.
The missile strike on the Menab girls’ school was launched from the US Fifth Fleet base in Bahrain. Other attacks were launched from US military base in Al-Ghafra (Abu Dhabi), as well as from multiple bases in Kuwait, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.
The UAE is an artificial entity cobbled together by British colonialists before they withdrew from the region in 1971. They got seven tribes to form what is referred to as the “United Arab Emirates”. In typical colonial style, the British took Omani land and gave it to the UAE.
Until 1970, Iran claimed Bahrain as part of its territory, referring to it as the 14th province. The overwhelming majority of its population, almost 90 percent, is Shi‘i, like the people in Iran.
The British forced the Shah of Iran, a US-British puppet installed in power through a CIA coup, to cede this territory. The ruling family in Bahrain belongs to the minority Sunni community. In the midst of the war on Iran and Bahrain’s hostility toward Tehran, calls for reclaiming Bahrain have grown louder inside Iran.
It is not surprising that the two Arabian entities in the region most hostile to Iran are the UAE and Bahrain. While the latter is firmly under US control because the Fifth Fleet has its headquarters there, the UAE has become virtually a zionist colony. Long before the Abraham Accords of September 2020 that formalized relations between the Arabian potentates, zionist Israel had deeply penetrated the UAE.
Its entire security system is run by Mossad. Nobody can enter or exit the UAE without the zionists recording it. The internal security of Emirates is also controled by the zionists. On major roads and streets in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Al-Ain etc, there are security cameras monitored directly by the zionists.
The UAE granted citizenship to more than 5,000 Israelis within three months of signing the Abraham Accords. This means that these Israelis can now travel to any one of the GCC countries.
In a September 13, 2023 piece for the All Arab News, Joel C Rosenberg excitedly reported that more than one million Israelis had travelled to the UAE since the accords. To put it into context, the local Emirati population is barely one million. There are nine million expatriates who have no legal or citizenship rights.
The Bani Saud, with whom the Emiratis are currently at odds over several issues, have welcomed the zionists to Makkah and al-Madinah. There are huge billboards reading, “Shalom” in the two holy cities.
MbZ’s aggressive policy towards Islamic Iran, however, has not been well received by the ruler of Sharjah, one of the UAE member states. Despite official denials, there are reports that the ruler of Sharjah, Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi is unhappy with MbZ’s anti-Iran and scandalously pro-Israeli policies. There are even reports that he is thinking of exiting the UAE or declare his own “Republic of Sharjah”.
Of the seven states, Sharjah is the most Islamically-oriented. It has not opened night clubs or other dens of vice on its territory. Dubai and Abu Dhabi have become virtual brothels, aided and abetted, no doubt by the zionists and Hindus.
On May 17, a drone strike on the Barakah Nuclear Power plant in the UAE’s Al-Ghafra region sparked a fire in an external electrical generator outside the plant’s inner perimeter. While the UAE has not officially accused Iran of the attack, unofficially, it hinted strongly at Iran’s involvement. Tehran has denied carrying out the attack. Independent reports say the drone came from the west. This would rule out Iranian involvement.
In the midst of escalating UAE hostility towards Iran, the Saudis floated a non-aggression pact between the Arabian states and Iran. This is something Tehran has always advocated although the zionist entity and the US would oppose it.
The evil duo do not want reduction in tensions. Their strategy is to stoke differences and keep the states in the region fighting each other.
Whether the Saudis would be able to convince the Emiratis and Bahrainis to agree to such a pact is yet to be seen.
