I have just returned from Hajj and was struck by what you wrote about the “5-Star Hajj.” That is exactly how it is. Muslims are being separated based on nationality and now, wealth. If you have lots of money, you can stay in the best hotels. It is really like going on an expensive religious holiday, all services provided. Expensive marble floors, plush carpets and lavish meals are the order of the day. The true spirit of Hajj — sacrifice, submission and unity — is gone.
