Millions of people across the US and Canada plan to march against the US war on Syria. An attack on Syria appears imminent despite massive opposition to such aggression among Americans and Canadians. The warmongers are looking for excuses, however, flimsy, to perpetrate more aggression against another Muslim country.
Washington DC,
August 30, 2013, 21:57 EDT
Even as the drums of war get louder and US President Barack Obama has painted himself into a corner thereby necessitating an attack of some sort on Syria, anti-war groups throughout the US and Canada have organized protest rallies across the continent.
Some have already been held on Thursday and Friday as shown below. Others are planned for cities listed by various organizations.
In Toronto, the call went out from the Canadian Peace Alliance, an umbrella group of hundreds of labour movements and peace groups across Canada, for a rally on Saturday August 31 starting at 2 pm. The rally will be held outside the US Consulate on University Avenue.
In the US, anti-war groups such as ANSWER, UNAC (United National Anti-War Coalition), Code Pink and other groups have planned rallies in different cities for Saturday August 31 as listed below. The time and place are also given.
According to UNAC, information will be updated regularly on its web site: http://UNACpeace.org.
The slogans are already agreed.
Say NO to another US War!
Hands OFF Syria!
Below is the list of cities in the US where rallies are planned for Saturday or the day the US launches its illegal attack on Syria.
