This reader appreciates Crescent’s coverage of the Yemenis’ suffering that regrettably has been largely ignored by others.
The Najdi Bedouins in illegal occupation of the Arabian Peninsula are notorious savages. Even the UN agency, UNICEF has now confirmed this in its latest report on the first anniversary of the Saudi-led assault on Yemen. UNCEF reports that children are the principal victims of Saudi barbarism. Nothing is safe in Yemen: hospitals, schools, playgrounds, houses and even open air markets where civilians go to buy food.
Have the Bani Saud been sufficiently chastened and beaten to sue for peace in Yemen? Recent reports suggest they have held secret talks with the Houthis and will be holding further discussions. Their one-year-long war has caused a lot of civilian casualties leading to war crimes charges. Perhaps they want to cut their losses and end the war that is going nowhere. The next few days and weeks will tell.
While associated with renewal and growth, the month of March brings grim reminder of how terribly movements for change in the Muslim world have been subverted. Leaders of Islamic movements need to pay close attention to their modus operandi.
The first requirement for getting out of a hole is to stop digging. The Bani Saud appear not to have heard this. They are digging themselves deeper into a hole. As the desert sand pours in, they will be buried under it.
The Saudis and their Arabian allies were never a match for the lightly armed Ansarallah fighters in Yemen. They had to rely on Blackwater mercenaries to do the fighting for them but the Ansarallah fighters have put these mercenaries also to flight as the latest news from Yemen indicates. The Saudi war on Yemen is a total failure and will end up in even more humiliation for the Bani Saud.
Reader Sarah Salim finds it heart-breaking that the people of Yemen have been virtually forgotten despite being subjected to such terrible suffering.
The Zionists’ intensified attacks against innocent Palestinians at a time when Bani Saud are doing the same in Syria and Yemen should not surprise us. Palestinians have endured Zionist occupation for nearly 70 years.
With the Muslim world in turmoil, it is easy to forget the wars on Syria and Yemen. The Bani Saud footprint is writ large in both locales...
When is genocide not called genocide? When the perpetrators are Americans, Israeli Zionists, and now, the Najdi Bedouins in illegal occupation of the Arabian Peninsula. The Najdi Bed-ouins’ (aka “Saudis”) attack on the residential neighborhood of Salah district in Yemen’s Ta’iz province killed 65 people on August 23. Those murdered in the latest “Saudi” onslaught were all civilians, mainly women and children.
Saudi army commanders are known for putting on a show of bravado but are grossly incompetent. Major General Abdul Rahman bin Saad al Shahrani was killed as he was out inspecting troops in the border region. The Saudi Press Agency carried an announcement from the Saudi Armed Forces today confirming his death. Yemen is turning into a Saudi graveyard.
“Yemeni people are not bad people, they are good people. They want to be respected; they want their sovereignty to be respected. We did not wage war, it was imposed upon us. Our issue was an internal one and it would have been sorted out internally.” –Yemeni refugee Hanan al-Harazi
The number of Yemeni civilians killed in Saudi bombing raids is very high. Innocent people are being killed while most countries in the world remain silent.
Almost all people claim to follow some principles but when it comes to their personal interests, principles are often quickly abandoned.
The Najdi Bedouins’ attack on Yemen has resulted in not only Saudi casualties but also given rise to freedom movements inside the kingdom. The Bedouins may have bitten more than they can chew.
While unable to directly block UN-brokered peace talks on Yemen in Geneva that started today, the Najdi Bedouins, displaying childish behavior, forced the Egyptian regime to refuse permission for the plane carrying Yemeni representatives from flying over its territory. In the absence of Ansarullah and representatives of the former president Ali Abdullah Saleh, the talks are bound to fail.
Killing a lot of civilians and destroying much of Yemen’s infrastructure does not amount to a “Saudi” victory. What would the Najdi Bedouins do now?
"Saudi" royals are nothing if not vulgar. Take the case of Mohammad bin Salman, Defence Minister and Deputy Crown Prince of "Saudi" Arabia. He is on a honeymoon--not with his first wife, incidentally--while his air force kills thousands of innocent Yemenis and "Saudi" soldiers die in border skirmishes. Many "Saudi" soldiers prefer to flee rather than fight. Why die for a dying dynasty?
With thousands of civilians murdered in "Saudi" bombing raids in Yemen, the Medical Academy of the Islamic Republic of Iran has urged the UN Secretary General to take note of the ongoing genocide and urged immediate action. The Iranian doctors have asked the UN chief to not only stop the genocide but also facilitate the delivery much needed medicines and food to the injured people of Yemen.
The Najdi Bedouins have a strange sense of peace. Even while they resumed the savage bombing of Yemen after declaring a halt to attacks five days earlier, they organized a so-called peace conference in Riyadh. The Houthis, the principal aggrieved party boycotted the farcical conference because the "Saudis", far from being honest peace brokers, are the main aggressors against the people of Yemen.
