US-liberated Libya sinks into a blackhole

Editor

Has Libya been ‘liberated’ from the clutches of Muammar Qaddafi’s tyranny or plunged into chaos by the thugs and hoodlums trained and armed by the west? Life for ordinary Libyans has become extremely grim.

The plight of the Libyan people once again highlights why foreign interventions in other countries is utterly wrong. The West, led by the US and NATO allies has made a habit of launching attacks against other countries on the flimsy pretext of “liberating” them. Often, this means liberating their souls from their bodies.

US-liberated Libya is in a mess but you will not read about this in the New York Times or the Washington Post. Ditto for CNN, and Fox News, which are all full of racists and bigots. The people of Libya have been held hostage by armed thugs who were all armed and financed by the West. Any thug with guns and a few men is now a law unto itself. If the various militias fight among themselves and kill each other, no one would lose any sleep. It is innocent people that are being targeted and brutalized.

Reports from Libya indicate that ordinary people are suffering terribly. There is no central government to speak of. The Western-backed opportunists who had led the “revolt” against Colonel Muammar Qaddafi — no saint either — have been marginalized by the gun-toting thugs. There is political, social and economic chaos. Security is non-existent. People live in constant fear of being kidnapped or killed. In an ironic twist, people are now harking back to the days of Qaddafi. This gives an indication of how bad things are in Libya.
