Toronto’s Quds Day rally, held on March 14 opposite the US consulate, attracted a record number of people.
The ongoing illegal occupation of Masjid al Aqsa, the first qibla of Muslims and the third holiest site in Islam, as well as the barbaric illegal US-zionist war on the Islamic Republic of Iran were on people’s mind.
Rally participants carried pictures of the late Imam Khamenei, and his successor who also happens to be his son, Ayatullah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei.
People also carried flags of Palestine and the Islamic Republic.
Imam Khamenei was martyred by the US-zionist war criminals on February 28.
The zionists’ war on Gaza has killed more than 72,000 innocent people since October 2023.
The actual number is much higher.
The US-zionist criminals’ war on Iran since February 28 has also resulted in more than 1500 Iranians killed.
Among them were at least 165 young school girls, martyred when their school in Menab was struck by American missiles.
The zionists and the Americans take special pleasure in killing innocent children and women.
The twin wars being waged on the people of Palestine and Iran attracted an unusually huge crowd.
One of the remarkable features of the Toronto rally is that it is attended by people from all walks of life.
There were Muslims of various backgrounds and origins as well as non-Muslims that included people of the Jewish and Christian faiths.
This was a clear repudiation of the vile propaganda instigated by pro-Israel groups that was also shamelessly parroted by Canadian politicians.
Western politicians behave like zionist stooges.
Donald Trump, the convicted felon and sex predator is a compulsive liar and a zionist puppet.
Ontario premier, Doug Ford, cut from the same cloth as Trump, also jumped into the anti-Al Quds Day rally rant.
He was clearly pandering to the zionist lobby that always misrepresent what the Quds Day rally is about: to draw attention to the illegal occupation of Palestine, especially Masjid al Aqsa.
The politicians’ rhetoric, laced with anti-Muslim and anti-Palestinian hatred, was an attempt to prevent the rally from being held.
They failed because the excuses they advanced were all false.
Toronto has held Quds Day rallies since 1980.
These have always been peaceful and focused: to draw attention to the illegal occupation of Masjid al Aqsa and Palestine.
Rally organizers and participants have always made a clear distinction between Judaism and zionism.
In their customary falsehood, the zionists tried to portray the rally as a “hate-fest”.
The presence of Jewish rabbis and speakers belied this scandalous allegation.
The rights of the Palestinian people and the liberation of Masjid al Aqsa have been the main focus of the Quds Day rally.
Repeatedly, speakers addressed the issue of the ongoing zionist genocide of the Palestinians, as well as the theft of Palestinian land.
Rally speakers also challenged Canadian politicians—whether at the municipal, provincial or federal levels—to explain whether they will take a clear stand against genocide.
What about international law that is often invoked when it suits their interests but is set aside when western regimes or their allies (zionist Israel, for instance) are guilty of violating it?
The hypocrisy of western politicians is glaring.
Several speakers at the Quds Day rally pointed to it and took them to task.
The rally marched through the streets of Toronto peacefully.
There was a heavy police presence but they know that the Quds Day rally has always been peaceful.
There has not been one instance in 45 years when rally participants have engaged with those who hurl abuse at them or even try to attack them.
It is the zionist thugs, many of them trained by the Israeli army, that attempt to disrup the rally.
The police are aware of this but have seldom arrested these criminals.
This year’s Quds Day rally once against exposed the hypocrisy of western politicians and the criminal nature of the US-zionist war mongers and their supporters.
There is now growing awareness among most Canadians that zionism is an evil ideology.
This is what terrifies the zionists.
