Other Dimensions of the Saudi-Turkiye-Pakistan Pact

The camel, the wolf and the markhor: three wretched creatures using the others for their own interests in Saudi Arabia. Will the wolf devour the others without saving the Bani Saud camel? (Image ChatGPT).

The tripartite alliance between the Bani Saud, Turkiye and Pakistan is a devil’s pact.

Its ostensible purpose is to defend the Saudi monarchy from Ansar-Allah operations.

While true, there are other dimensions that are too embarrassing to mention.

Let us begin with the Pakistanis that the Saudis treat as miskeens (poor wretched creatures).

The Pakistan army is a mercenary force available for hire.

Its personnel act as chowkidars (guards at the frontgate) for the Bani Saud ruling bandits.

They have performed this duty for decades under the cloak of ‘defending’ the holy cities of Makkah and al-Madinah.

Bani Saud palaces are in Riyadh and Jeddah, not in Makkah and Madinah.

The claim of defending the holy cities provides a cloak of religiosity that sits well with the largely gullible Pakistani masses.

To put it bluntly, the Pakistani sa’ils (beggars) and miskeens (indigent) are there for money.

But here is the rub.

The Bani Saud have given nearly $1 trillion to the US (Trump, to be precise) in the hope that they would be protected.

The Saudi de facto ruler Muhammad bin Salman (MbS), called Trump on September 10 seeking help.

He was rebuffed.

MbS’s phone call was made in the wake of Ansar-Allah’s rapid advances against Saudi-backed mercenaries in Yemen along the Red Sea coast.

For the Pakistanis, the Bani Saud have merely extended their $3 billion deposit in the State Bank of Pakistan.

When people stoop to lick the boots (or chappals) of the Saudis, they should not be surprised to get kicked in the teeth.

The Pakistani head honcho, the self-appointed field marshal Asim Munir, also marshalled the court maulvis to dish out fatwas against the Ansar-Allah.

One of them, with the inappropriate name Tahir Ashrafi—there is nothing tahir about this najas man—even declared the Yemeni Ansar-Allah as non-Muslims.

On what authority does this apology for a human being—he can barely carry his ponderous bulk—make such pronouncements?

If he slips and falls, it will require a crane to lift him off the ground.

Not long ago, this maulvi appeared on a Pakistani TV show in a state of drunken stupor.

He should have been flogged 80 lashes for this crime.

This is what Islam prescribes as punishment for alcohol consumption.

And then there is Taqi Usmani who claims to be a leading authority on Islamic jurisprudence.

He complained that the US had not come to the protection of Saudi Arabia.

May we remind Mr Usmani—he cannot be called a maulana with such a mindset—of Surah al Mai’da, verse 51 in the noble Qur'an, where Allah commands the committed Muslims to “NOT take the political Yahud and the political Nasara as protectors, for they are protectors of one another. Those Muslims who do so, are part of them.”

Has Mr. Usmani not read this Qur’anic verse, or the lure of money or subservience to illegitimate authority have forced him to abandon the teachings of the Qur’an?

Pity the people who are led by such hypocritical maulvis.

Depsite their $80 billion annual military budget, the Bani Saud are unable to defend themselves from the intrepid Ansar-Allah of Yemen.

In retaliation for Saudi war crimes against the Yemeni people, the Ansar-Allah have hit Saudi oil facilities and airports with missiles and drones.

The Bani Saud have been forced to admit casualties at Riyadh airport.

MbS, who claimed to have abandoned the obscurantist Wahhabi interpretations of Islam and wrapped himself in the mantle of modernity, has suddenly rediscovered the utility of religion.

Will he now ban musical concerts at which scantily-clad western female singers perform?

For MbS, and others of his ilk, Islam is a mere label of convenience.

It has been brought out of the basement to refurbish the credentials of a decrepit monarchy.

Unable to fight them militarily despite their huge stockpile of weapons, the Bani Saud want to discredit the Ansar-Allah through the fatwas of a bunch of obscurantist Pakistani maulvis.

His other crutches are the militaries of Pakistan and Turkiye.

What is Turkiye’s role in this? Surely it is not suddenly discovered love for the Saudis.

The Bani Saud would love to see Pakistani and Turkish forces fight the Ansar-Allah in ground combat but it is unlikely at present.

The Pakistanis have admitted that their troops are present in Saudi Arabia; the Turks have denied their forces’ presence.

This may not be the final status.

There may be an altogether sinister purpose behind the Turks’ involvement in Saudi defence.

Turkish president Recept Tayip Erdogan has long harboured ambitions of reviving the Ottoman empire.

Deployment of Turkish troops to Saudi Arabia might provide him the pretext to take over the Hijaz.

This would refurbish his Islamic image tarnished by his subservience to the US and Israel.

There is more to the tripartite alliance than meets the eye even if everything is not spelled out.

Neither ruler trusts the others.

Wolf is Turkiye’s symbol.

The Saudi camel and the Pakistani markhor (the horned goat) are no match for the wily wild wolf.
