After weeks of zionist squatter violence against Palestinians in the West Bank, thousands of heavily-armed occupation troops also launched an assault in the early hours of November 26.

Backed by helicopter gunships, they attacked the northern West Bank city of Tubas.

Residents were forced out of their homes at gunpoint.

The occupation army detained 32 Palestinians, and injured 10 others, the Palestinian Prisoner Society said in a statement.

Local media reports said Apache helicopters were firing at civilians.

The towns of Tammun, Tayasir and Aqaba were also attacked.

The occupation army stormed Palestinian homes turning several houses into temporary military barracks, according to a report in Middle East Eye.

Troops smashed furniture, beat up people and indulged in other acts of violence.

The Palestinian Red Crescent said its teams treated 10 people injured by severe beatings. Four were transferred to a hospital, while six received on-site treatment.

Medical crews said the army obstructed their work by blocking roads and erecting earth mounds.

Ambulances were prevented from moving Palestinians needing medical care to hospital.

The military assault targeted the city of Tubas, the towns of Tammoun and Aqaba, and the al-Far’a refugee camp.

Tubas was essentially put under lockdown, obstructing the movement of people across the area.

As they tried to evacuate 30 medical cases, including 20 patients who require kidney dialysis, medical crews were prevented from doing so.

In the process a person died at home whose body was later transported to hospital.

What was the reason for the zionists’ latest assault on the defenceless Palestinians?

While they do not need any reason or justification to attack Palestinians, the occupation army spokesman said they were targeting “terrorists”.

Resistance to attacks by the occupation forces or the heavily-armed squatters is immediately branded as “terrorism”.

International law and several UN resolutions recognize the right of people under occupation to resist their occupiers “by whatever means necessary”.

The West Bank was occupied by the zionists during the June 1967 war.

In a July 2024 ruling, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) declared Israel’s occupation illegal and said it must vacate these lands.

Instead, the zionists are furiously building squatter colonies across the West Bank.

There are some 700,000 squatters, most of them American citizens, living illegally in the West Bank.

Attack on West Bank cities and towns was carried out by the military, the Shin Bet intelligence agency and Border Guard forces.

This was confirmed by an Israeli army spokesperson.

Videos posted online showed occupation forces setting up equipment on the roofs of civilian homes.

Since the so-called ceasefire was announced in Gaza in October, heavily-armed zionist squatters backed by the occupation army have escalated their attacks on Palestinians in the West Bank.

October is olive harvest month.

The squatters have targeted Palestinians harvesting olives.

Scores of Palestinians have been attacked and injured.

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) documented at least 260 violent attacks by Israeli squatters in the West Bank in October.

One particular gruesome attack occurred at the end of October when a 55-year-old Afaf Abu Alia was badly beaten with a club by a masked squatter.

Even as she lay cowering on the ground with a gushing wound to her head, the squatter struck her repeatedly.

She was picking olives on farmland she rents near the village of Abu Falah.

The assault was captured on video.

“One of [the settlers] attacked me and started beating me—hitting my head, my arms and legs, and kicking my legs with their boots,” she told the BBC.

“I fell down. I wasn’t aware of what was happening, my mind went blank—I was only feeling the pain. I felt like my soul was leaving my body. The only thing I thought about was my children.”

At the hospital, Afaf received 20 stitches in her head with bruises on her arms and legs from the squatter attack.

Now recovering at home, she told the BBC that she was still in pain that left her unable to sleep.

The zionists are able to indulge in such barbaric acts because they have the backing of the collective west led by the US.

The Arabian potentates are also complicit in zionist war crimes.
