Illegal Zionist squatters aided and abetted by the occupation army in violation of international law, have again barged into the compound on the pretext of offering "prayer". This is forbidden both under Jewish religious law as well as an agreement signed with the Jordanian regime in June 1967.

The Zionists do not hide their evil intentions of occupying Masjid al Aqsa and the Haram al Sharif. The Palestinians bravely resist Zionist encroachments but they appear to be virtually powerless because they face a ruthless enemy.
According to reports from Jerusalem, some 20 Palestinians were injured today during clashes resisting Israeli occupation forces at al-Aqsa Mosque compound in the old part of al-Quds City. Clashes erupted when Palestinian worshippers resisted hundreds of Zionist squatters that had gathered at the sacred compound the night before for what they said was commemoration of the Jewish fasting holy day of Ninth of Av.
The illegal Zionist squatters, erroneously called ‘Jewish settlers’, are heavily armed and are extremely obnoxious in their behavior toward the Palestinians. Even though Jewish religious law expressly forbids Jews from trespassing on the sacred compound, the squatters ignore their own religious law.
Most of these squatters are illegal aliens into Palestine. They come from such places as Brooklyn in New York, as well as Russia and Eastern Europe. Armed with the Talmud, they barge into any place they claim was “promised” to them by God and occupy it by force.
If the Palestinians resist them, the Zionist occupation army jumps in and attacks them as they did Saturday and Sunday. According to eyewitnesses, some 300 Zionist squatters had barged their way into the compound and were performing rituals inside in violation of an agreement that bars non-Muslims from acts of worship at the site. The Zionist regime claimed it was a group of "foreign and non-Muslim" visitors that had entered the compound.
Director of al-Aqsa Mosque compound, Sheikh Omar al-Kiswani said Zionist occupation forces had enforced tight security measures around the compound, but the squatters still gathered at the site under armed escort on Sunday morning.
“We deny Israel’s claim that these raids are just visits and tourism. Israeli settlers are constantly raiding al-Aqsa Mosque compound to provoke the Muslim worshippers by practicing prayers and rituals in a holy place for Muslims only,” Kiswani said, adding, “Israel is violating all international regulations by its procedures in al-Aqsa compound.”
According to the agreement signed between the Tel Aviv regime and the Jordanian government after Israel’s military occupation of East Jerusalem (where al-Quds is located) in June 1967, visits to the compound by Jews are permitted but non-Muslim worship is prohibited.
Yet Zionist squatters continue with their provocations aided and abetted by Zionist occupation forces whose ultimate aim is to destroy the noble Sanctuary. The squatters have also taken over large tracts of land in the West Bank and 500,000 of them have settled there illegally.
Israel is an occupying power according to article 2 of the Hague Convention (1907) as well as articles of the Four Geneva Conventions (1949) that expressly forbid the occupying power from changing the demography of the lands under its occupation. Further, these conventions require the occupying regime to protect the populations under its jurisdiction. Instead, Zionist occupation forces are busy killing and brutalizing the Palestinians and stealing their lands.
It is also worth noting that the Arabian regimes especially those in Cairo, Amman and Riyadh are deepening their ties with the Zionists. The Bani Saud have come out openly in embracing the Zionist warmongers Bani Isra’il and advancing their agenda at the expense of the oppressed Palestinian people.
