Most Muslims yearn for unity even if they are not fully aware of how to achieve it. Unity among Muslims is a Qur’anic command and Allah (swt) calls upon Muslims to be united (3:103). Since the Muslim world is divided into nation-states, unity eludes them. While Muslim countries pursue narrow, often destructive policies (for example, Saudi Arabia), there are hopeful signs that some others can come together as the CI editorial pointed out (May 2019). Should this materialize, it will bring immense joy to Muslims worldwide.
