Trump gets slap on face for ‘ugly’ remarks against Iran, North Korea at UN

Donald Trump’s crude remarks against the Islamic Republic of Iran and North Korea have evoked strong reaction from both countries.

The Rahbar, Imam Seyyed Ali Khamenei while meeting members of the Assembly of Experts in Tehran today (September 21) condemned Trump’s comments at the UN as “ugly”, "foolish” and “sheer lies.”

Pointing to the reasons for Trump’s crude remarks, the Rahbar said these were rooted in US failure to advance its agenda in the West Asia region, where Iran has played an influential, dignified and successful role.

“The presence and influence of the Islamic Republic of Iran caused the plots of the US and the Zionist regime to fail in the region, and that is the reason for their anger,” the Rahbar added.

He went on: “That foolish, extremely ugly and hideous speech by the US president, with its gangster and cowboy language fraught with sheer lies, stems from their fury, frustration and ignorance.”

American officials have in the past used such grandiose expressions as the “New Middle East” and “Greater Middle East” focusing specifically on Iraq, Syria and Lebanon. All of these plans were meant to re-arrange the Middle East region to suit US-Zionist interests.

The Islamic Republic, however, has frustrated these plots with courage and dignity, hence the American frustration. “But they faced defeat in all three countries,” the Rahbar emphasized.

Trump accused Iran of engaging in “destabilizing activities” in the region, He alleged that Tehran’s “support for terror is in stark contrast to the recent commitments of many of its neighbors to fight terrorism and halt its financing.”

These allegations are utterly false. It is the US, Zionist Israel and their regional puppets like Saudi Arabia that are the principal sponsors of terrorism. The takfiri terrorists are the product of Saudi thinking. Islamic Iran is the victim of such terror.

Trump’s UN remarks were not only crude, they hit a new low in international forums. German Chancellor Angela Merkel also criticized Trump for his threats against North Korea saying only diplomacy could solve the crisis with that country.

The North Koreans were also scathing in their criticism of Trump’s remarks.

Upon arrival in New York today (September 21) to attend the UN session, North Korean Foreign Minister Ri Yong-ho dismissed Trump’s threat to “totally destroy” his country.

Using a Korean proverb that is known in other cultures as well, Ri said, “There is a saying that the marching goes on even when dogs bark.”

The other version of this proverb is: caravans do not stop for barking dogs.

“If he was thinking he could scare us with the sound of a dog barking, that’s really a dog dream,” Ri added.

Trump’s foolish remarks are doing nothing to endear him to the world. He is hated universally.
