Police forces in every country have a very bad reputation, deservedly so. In the US, however, they are extra brutal. This has to do with America’s culture of guns and violence. Not surprisingly, the US leads in crime as well as the number of people in prison. The American police shoot first and ask questions later, if at all. The system also protects them. Even with Obama as president, the plight of African-Americans suffering police brutality has not improved. Change of mentality — not faces — in the White House matters.
