Plight of Rohingyas

Shameem Ahmed

The Rohingya Muslims join a long list of other people suffering oppression and genocide. Their plight is made worse by the fact that there is little to be gained politically by offering them support. The world, including many in the Muslim world, have become cynical.

Attacked, raped, and burnt alive with survivors ethnically cleansed from their homes and villages by the Mynamar army, their only escape is to Bangladesh. The regime there is just as obnoxious, led by that terrible woman Hasina Wajed. She wishes to have nothing to do with them. The 500,000 Rohingyas that have been allowed to enter Bangladesh is the result of pressure from Muslim governments and payment to look after the refugees.

The Rohingya refugees must be allowed to return to their homes in an environment free from intimidation, coercion, and killings. This can only be achieved if a foreign military force is deployed to prevent the brutal Myanmar army and Buddhist vigilantes from indulging in their murderous acts.
