Pak elections

Azam Chaudhry

While complaining about the never-ending problems they face, the people of Pakistan have once again elected the same corrupt politicians they have tried twice before. How can they hope for change?

The people of Pakistan have once again failed to bring about meaningful change when they were given a chance to do so in the May election. Allah (swt) says in the Glorious Qur’an,

“Allah will not change the condition of a people unless they change their attitude [that is, they are willing to accept change]” (13:11).

There were reports of widespread rigging as well but if the people voted for the same bunch of corrupt politicians that had failed before, then they deserve the kind of misrule they have faced for decades. Nobody can force change from outside; it must be done internally.
