When do terrorists cease to be terrorists? When they serve the West’s geo-political interests. This applies most specifically to the cult, Mujahideen-e Khalq Organization (MKO) that has been rightly dubbed the munafiqeen (rank hypocrites). The Tirana-based cult has a gory record of murders. Not that it has given up its terrorist deeds but now these are carried out at the behest of the US and the Zionist entity.
On July 11-12, the cult held its annual anti-Iran hate fest at which an assortment of war criminals spoke. The virtual event was held in Paris. It is revealing that while the French regime is involved in a crusade against its Muslim citizens, it has no problem hosting the terrorist outfit on its soil together with former French officials attending.
Let us recall some of the MKO’s terrorist deeds. Since the victory of the Islamic revolution in Iran, it has murdered more than 17,000 people in Iran. These include an estimated 12,000 top government officials, among them a president, prime minister, justice minister, scores of ulama and members of parliament. In recent days, the cult has acted in tandem with the Zionist regime to assassinate Iran’s top scientists. It has also facilitated the sabotage of Iran’s nuclear facilities. And during the eighties, the cult was helping the Iraqi dictator Saddam Husain to carry out his criminal war against the Islamic republic.
There is a long list of unsavoury characters that appear regularly at its events spouting venom against the Islamic Republic of Iran. Among the Americans such crooks and war criminals as Rudy Giuliani and John Bolton almost always appear at the cult hate fests. Mike Pompeo, who had served as Trump’s Secretary of State and earlier as director of CIA has also been added to the list. All of them are paid hefty fees.
Giuliani is under criminal investigation. The FBI raided his apartment in New York and took away tons of documents in its investigation into Giuliani’s crimes. There is no war that Bolton does not like and Pompeo is on record as saying both “he and the CIA lied, cheated and stole” as well as committed other crimes. Surely, the MKO terrorist cult cannot be unaware of the real nature of these war criminals so why does it invite them to its hate fests? The terrorist cult knows that such criminals will be easy to persuade to do its dirty work, for a fee, of course!
But where does the cult get so much money not only to fly these criminals in first or business class, accommodate them in five-star hotels but also pay them handsomely? According to one source, Bolton has been paid $180,000 for his efforts. He was booted out of his job as National Security Advisor because Donald Trump would not start a war that Bolton wanted. The MKO cult paid Bolton huge sums because he often lobbied on their behalf to have it removed from the US regime’s terrorist list.
It was delisted in 2012 when Barack Obama was president. His Secretary of State Hillary Clinton (who earned the epithet, ‘Killary’ for her role in the lynching of Libyan leader Muammar Qaddafi in October 2011) was the one who removed the cult from its terrorist list. America’s listing of individuals or organizations as terrorist is not based on any specific standard or misdemeanor. The only consideration is whether they are opposed to US interests, real or imagined. Thus, Nelson Mandela remained on the US terrorist list until 2008 because he had led the African National Congress (ANC) to resist apartheid in South Africa, including resorting to armed struggle. He was not removed from the terrorist until 15 years after he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize!
Other prominent Democratic Party figures who have supported the MKO cult include former Pennsylvania governor Ed Rendell and Vermont governor Howard Dean. Readers will recall that Dean gained notoriety when his scream during his presidential campaign doomed his electoral chances.
A recent addition to the cult’s list of guests is Stephen Harper, a right-wing racist politician who was booted out of office by Canadians in 2015. It was Harper who as prime minister shut down Iran’s embassy in Ottawa in September 2012. This paved the way for a Canadian court to confiscate embassy property in Ottawa and Toronto, in clear violation of diplomatic and international norms. Harper remains an unrepentant racist.
Another attendee at the cult’s annual hate fest has been Turki bin Faisal, a former Saudi intelligence chief who also briefly served as the kingdom’s ambassador to Washington. He represents a regime that has illegally occupied the Arabian Peninsula and has committed horrific crimes against its own people as well as others. The Saudi regime is involved in a vicious war against the people of Yemen that has caused tens of thousands of deaths, starved millions of people and inflicted indescribable suffering on Yemeni children.
Turki supports this terrorist cult to bring about ‘regime change’ in Iran where a representative government exists. Iran holds regular elections—how many elections has Saudi Arabia held since its miserable birth, midwifed by Britain in 1932?—and the government in Tehran enjoys popular support among the people.
The cult has been quite successful in recruiting other unsavoury characters to its cause. These include former CIA directors R. James Woolsey and Porter Goss, former Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge, former FBI Director Louis Freeh, and Mitchell Reiss, a former State Department official.
The cult has also retained the services of top Washington lobby firms: DLA Piper; Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld; and DiGenova & Toensing. The three lobbying firms have received almost $1.5 million over the past year to assist the MKO cult’s lobbying efforts in the US.
What precisely does the MKO want? Its stated aim is to overthrow the Islamic republic and establish its own cult in power. The MKO, however, has zero support in Iran. The people won’t waste even their spit on them, hence its desperate attempts to get US help to install it in power. Hell would freeze before these terrorists will come to power in Iran.
