While fighting against the government of Bashar al-Asad, the takfiris presented themselves as ‘revolutionaries’. Their sectarian backers among Muslims also lapped up this propaganda. Once Damascus was ‘liberated’, they claimed their next destination was Tel Aviv.
Committed Muslims were not taken in by such deception. They had realized early on that the takfiri project was backed by the US and zionist Israel and financed by the Arabian regimes as well as Turkiye.
Recep Tayip Erdogan is a rank opportunist and hypocrite. His rhetoric about Islam is just that: rhetoric. His only obsession is to stay in power, by manipulating Muslim sentiment, at home and abroad. Unfortunately, there are many naïve Muslims that fall for such rhetoric, with disastrous consequences.
What are the takfiri rulers in Syria led by Abu Muhammad al-Jolani doing since they grabbed power in Damascus? They are busy falling over themselves to appease the US-backed zionist war criminals. Now dressed in suit and tie to look respectable, they strut about the globe presenting themselves as responsible statemen. Image is important but can the leopard change its spots?
Even while the zionists have occupied large swathes of Syrian territory and continue to bomb strategic installations in Damascus, there is not even a whisper of protest from the new rulers. On numerous occasions, Al-Jolani has emphasized to the zionists that “we have a common enemy”, meaning Hizbullah and Islamic Iran.
On August 19, Syrian foreign minister Asaad al-Shibani and Israeli strategic affairs minister Ron Dermer met in Paris under the watchful gaze of US envoy Tom Barrack. This was not their first meeting. Dermer had met al-Shibani in July as well.
The Israeli newspaper, Haaretz citing informed sources, reported that the purpose of the latest meeting was to prevent the deployment of Hizbullah and Iranian forces in southern Syria considered hostile to Israel. Al Jolani’s takfiri comrades will act as bodyguards for the zionist war criminals.
There was no discussion about zionist Israel removing its forces from illegally occupied Syrian territory. Forget about the illegally occupied Golan Heights that the zionists insist will not be returned. They will not even hold discussions about the Golan Heights.
There are reports that the Trump regime in Washington is arranging for a meeting between the indicted war criminal Netanyahu and Al-jolani when the two visit New York to attend the next session of the UN General Assembly this month. Netanyahu has an arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) for war crimes. He should be arrested, not welcomed in New York but when the US is run by an indicted felon who is also guilty of other misdemeanors, such expectations are unrealistic.
Why are the takfiris acting as zionist slaves? That was precisely the role for which they were nurtured and supported by the US-zionist-Saudi-Turkish-Qatari-Emirati conspirators. This is not different from the role assigned to the Arabian regimes, whether in Jordan, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Egypt or Lebanon.
History clearly has a way of exposing people sooner than expected. This is what has happened with the takfiris installed in power in Damascus last December. Aided and abetted by an unholy alliance of the US, Israel, Turkey, Qatar and Saudi Arabia, the takfiris’ take over of Damascus was both surprising and dramatic.
The last nine months have clearly exposed their true nature and agenda. Al-Jolani (he insists on using his real name now—Ahmed al-Sharaa—having shed his guerilla fatigues) and the takfiris are working according to the US-zionist script. Committed Muslims were aware of this and saw the danger posed by the takfiris who were acting as Trojan Horses.
Unfortunately, many naïve Muslims refused to listen. Will the recent parleys between the takfiris and the zionists wisen up these Muslims? It is highly unlikely. They had fallen for the takfiris’ propaganda who claimed that their ‘liberation’ of Syria from the clutches of Bashar al-Asad was a prelude to marching on Tel Aviv to liberate it from the zionists. Despite clear evidence to the contrary, many Muslims refused to listen.
We do not repose much hope in these naïve Muslims to admit their mistake and make amends. They are not motivated by a desire for justice or freedom. They are consumed by an intense hatred of Shi‘as whom they consider to be a greater threat than the zionists, the Americans and the illegitimate regimes in the Muslim world.
The Israeli newspaper Haaretz was elated that the recent Dermer-Shibani meeting in Paris received unprecedented coverage from the Syrian official news agency, SANA. What this indicates is that al-Jolani and his takfiri band of organ eaters want to normalize relations with the zionist entity. By giving extensive coverage to their meetings, the takfiris want to convey to the Syrian people that this is the new normal.
The Syria-Israel rapprochement is being midwifed by the Americans. Tom Barrack, the US ambassador to Turkey is the driving force behind this fast-paced process of normalization. While facilitating Israeli-Syrian contacts, he is also exerting pressure on the Lebanese government to disarm Hizbullah. The aim is to instigate a civil war in Lebanon that would sap Hizbullah’s energies and allow Israel to consolidate its hold on Lebanese territory.
Al-Jolani and his crew are also silent about the indicted war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu’s messianic pronouncement that he wants to create ‘Greater Israel’. This will include not only Palestine but also Lebanon and Syria. What do the takfiris have to say about this latest zionist expansionist plan?
Their silence about a very serious threat to the territorial integrity of several Arab countries indicates that they are helpless in the face of zionist land grab. They and their naïve Muslim supporters must answer whether they are better off today in a Syria that is on the verge of being swallowed up the pushy zionists than they were before the takfiris stormed Damascus.
When you decide to live in a snake pit, do not be surprised to get bitten. The takfiris are about to discover that their new best friends, the zionists, know no friendship. They are greedy usurpers and will grab whatever land they can for their criminal enterprise. Only the Islamic resistance can confront such expansionism. The takfiris in Syria, however, want to fight the Islamic resistance, not the zionist usurpers.
