El-Sisi declares candidacy for president

Crescent International

In what was a foregone conclusion, General (or Field Marshal) Abdel Fattah el-Sisi announced today on television that he is hanging his military uniform and wants to be president of Egypt. The notorious coup-maker whose hands are drenched in the blood of innocent people claims he wants to serve them.

The Zionist-Saudi backed coup-maker General Abdel Fattah el-Sisi has finally declared he wants to be president of Egypt. The announcement hardly came as a surprise as the election date was postponed to enable him to declare his candidacy. Dressed in military uniform, he addressed the people of Egypt on television when he announced his candidacy. No other candidate was afforded this privilege clearly signifying where the real power resides in the country.

El-Sisi whose maternal uncle had served in the Israeli Knesset for 15 years, said he wanted to serve the people of Egypt by “fighting terrorism.” His illegal coup against the first-ever legitimately elected government in Egypt’s history is root cause of the rise in violence and mayhem. The muscleman made his widely expected announcement three days after a judge in Al-Minya sentenced 529 people to death. The March 23 verdict was unprecedented not only in Egypt’s history but the whole world.

What was the defendants’ crime? They were accused of attacking a police station in which a policeman was killed. The attack occurred in the aftermath of the police and military assault on peaceful protesters in Rabaa al-Adawiya Square on August 14, 2013. Thousands of people, among them women and children, were mercilessly butchered. Two days later, mourner burying the dead were also attacked leading to more deaths.

The death of one policeman led to death sentences being handed down to 529 people. How could so many people be involved in the killing of only one person? Legal or technical niceties were not something the hanging judge Saeed Youssef cared about. While he pronounced the sentences, the order had come directly from el-Sisi. He wanted to send a clear message as to who was boss. The following day, 683 other people including the murshid (leader) of the Ikhwan al-Muslimoon Mohamed Badie were brought to court in Minya and locked up in animal-like cages for the kangaroo trial.

Egypt under el-Sisi is fasting gaining notoriety as the land where the pharaoh’s worst crimes are being repeated. El-Sisi clearly considers himself the new pharaoh, but one that is financed by the Saudis and backed by his Zionist cousins in Occupied Palestine. Chief-of-staff Sedki Sobhi was sworn in as new defence minister after el-Sisi relinquished the post to run for president. Sobhi was elevated to the rank of colonel general by the military appointed interim president Adly Mansour.

Lieutenant General Mahmoud Hegazi, head of military intelligence, replaced Sobhi as chief of staff. Would Hegazi do to el-Sisi what the latter did to Mursi after he was appointed defence minister in August 2012?

Egypt has reverted to the time of the pharaohs. The only difference is that today they carry guns and other heavy weapons while in the past the pharaoh’s soldiers only carried swords and spears.
