Israel’s killing of Palestinians has become so frequent that much of the rest of the world treats each new massacre with a hardly repressed yawn.
This is what happened on Land Day that the Palestinians observed on Friday March 30. In the Gaza Strip, Israeli snipers shot and killed 16 Palestinians and injured nearly 1500 others, according to Gaza’s Ministry of Health.
The Zionist occupation army had already deployed some 120 snipers around Gaza Strip as well as tanks. As thousands of peaceful Palestinian protesters surged toward the border fence that Israel has erected to bottle up the people of Gaza, Israeli snipers opened fire with live ammunition.
They also used tear gas against the Palestinians causing massive breathing problem for the protesters.
This was the biggest slaughter of Palestinians since the invasion of Gaza in July-August 2014 when more than 2200 Palestinians were murdered in cold blood.
At an emergency session of the UN Security Council, the arrogant Zionists did not even bother to show up, aware that the US would not allow any condemnation of their horrific crime.
While there was mild criticism of Zionist barbarism at the UN, the Israeli military threatened to intensify its “response” if tensions continue on the Gaza fence.
Israeli military spokesman Brigadier Ronen Manelis said today that the regime has thus far “restricted” its response to those he claimed to be trying to breach Gaza’s border with historical Palestinian lands.
He threatened to go after those behind the angry demonstrations “in other places too.” It truly takes gall (or chutzpah, to use the proper Hebrew expression).
The Israeli human rights group B’Tselem chastised the Zionist occupation army for unnecessary violence against unarmed protesters (Gaza is an open air prison not a “war zone”!).
The UN has repeatedly pointed out that Gaza is unlivable because of the siege. The Arabian regimes, however, are not bothered. They have openly embraced the Zionist occupiers. The latest to join this long list of cowardly rulers is Muhammad bin Salman, the de facto ruler of the primitive Bedouin kingdom (aka ‘Saudi’ Arabia).
In a revealing development, the Israeli army chief quoted two ‘Saudi’ clergymen (al Uthaymeen among them) that had denounced protests as ‘un-Islamic’. Now that is real convergence of Zionism and Wahhabism!
Among those killed by Zionist snipers was Muhammad Abu Omar, a 22-year-old Palestinian artist who had only recently created a sand sculpture on the Gaza beach that read #Ana_Raj‘e (I am returning)!
This is a reference to the Palestinians’ right of return to their ancestral lands and homes that the Zionists have illegally usurped.
Palestine will not be liberated through slogans or UN resolutions. Only Islamic resistance will put an end to this cancer. But for that to happen, the illegitimate rulers in lands surrounding Palestine must first be removed. They are an impediment in the liberation of Palestine, starting with the dinosaurs occupying the Arabian Peninsula.
