Last month, the Emiratis announced they were withdrawing their forces from Aden, Yemen’s southern port city. As part of the Saudi-led coalition, they were an important component of the invading forces. Two developments forced the Emiratis to change their minds: successful Ansarallah drone strikes on Saudi airports, and Iran’s shooting down of a US spy drone. The Emiratis do not want to see their skyscrapers go up in smoke. They sent a delegation to Tehran seeking forgiveness!
