US-Zionist-Saudi-backed Terrorists Kill 29 in Ahvaz, among Them Women and Children

Foreign-backed terrorists attacked a military parade in Iran’s western province of Ahvaz earlier today killing at least 29 people among them women and children and wounded 53 others.

The parade was held to commemorate the anniversary of Saddam Husain’s aggression against Islamic Iran that was launched on September 22, 1980.

The Iraqi dictator had the backing of Arabian allies as well as the Western world but his criminal attempt was defeated through Iran’s valiant resistance.

While the Saudi-backed terrorist group al-Ahvaziya claimed responsibility for the crime, Iranian officials pointed to Arabian regimes and their Zionist and American masters for the deadly terrorist carnage.

Foreign Minister Javad Zarif promised “swift and decisive” response to this dastardly crime.

Four terrorists disguised in military fatigues and hiding in a nearby park fired with automatic weapons at the military parade. Eight members of the Revolutionary Guards were martyred as were 21 civilians including women and children.

There is little doubt that Saudi, Zionist and American fingerprints are all over this latest terrorist act.

Two terrorists were killed and two were captured alive, according the Iran’s Press TV. The captured terrorists will surely provide information about who instigated them.

Last June, three terrorists disguised as women—yes, these criminals even pretend to be women—entered Iran’s parliament and shot and killed people. They had also tried to attack Imam Khomeini’s mausoleum in South Tehran but were thwarted.

It is quite revealing how the Arabian and Western media outlets described this terrorist attack that has killed or wounded dozens of civilians.

No media outlets described it as a “terrorist act”. They simply described it as an “attack” by “gunmen”. One can imagine the screaming headlines if a similar attack or even much smaller than this had occurred anywhere in the West.

In many cases, the story was tucked way back on their websites giving it little importance.

The response from Iran’s allies was different.

Russian President Vladimir Putin offered condolences to his Iranian counterpart, Hassan Rouhani, after the brutal attack.

He also expressed Moscow's readiness to boost joint efforts with Tehran in the fight against terrorism.

“This incident once again reminds us about the need to conduct an uncompromising war on terror in all its manifestations. I would like to confirm our readiness to further enhance cooperation with Iranian partners in countering this evil,” the Kremlin quoted Putin as saying.

The Islamic resistance movement, Hizullah also condemned the terrorist attack in the strongest possible terms.

Iraq also condemned the terrorist attack. Interior Minister Qasim al-Araji said the attack once again demonstrated the hostility of terrorists and arrogant elements towards the Muslim people of Iran.
