Professor Shahram Amiri’s kidnapping ordeal finally ended on July 12 when he escaped from his American captors in Virginia and took refuge in the Iranian Interest Section at the Pakistan Embassy in Washington, DC. Kidnapped by CIA agents working in tandem with Saudi intelligence while he was on a pilgrimage to Makkah and Madinah in June 2009, he was drugged and transported to the US.

Throughout this time Washington denied both the kidnapping charge and any knowledge of his presence in the US. Following arrival in Tehran on July 15, Amiri told a press conference that he had been subjected to severe psychological and physical torture. He said the Israelis were also present when he was interrogated by CIA operatives.

Amiri thanked Allah (swt) for not breaking down under torture. He said the CIA had offered him $50 million to say that he had defected and to stay in the US for the rest of his life. He refused. He denied involvement in Iran’s nuclear program, insisting he was a researcher at Malik Ashtar University in Tehran.

When the US could no longer deny his presence, it made the fantastic claim that Amiri was in the US “of his own free will”. How he arrived in the US was not explained nor, why he was not allowed contact with his family during this time, and nor the conflicting videos.

The Americans and the Zionist habitually indulge in kidnapping, torture and murder. The Amiri saga exposes their true nature.
