The clergy-class and (the almost) ‘Shari‘ah-compliant’ political parties in South Africa!

The clergy-class in South Africa, erroneously called ulama, are not much help in guiding Muslims.

When discussing their role, they bring up Ibn Taymiyah’s opinion about a just kafir ruler versus an unjust Muslim ruler.

الله ينصر الدولة العادلة وإن كانت كافرة، ولا ينصر الدولة الظالمة وإن كانت مؤمنـة

This is problematic because it is neither Qur’anic or Prophetic.

While non-Muslim individuals can be just, to extend this to say that a country in rejection and denial of Allah can function on the basis of justice is absurd!

Many Prophets spent their lifetime trying to convince people of the centrality of scripture to justice.

The Abyssinian king, Al Najashi was not of the Kafiroon.

The Prophet (pbuh) described him as a king who oppresses none.

To bolster their misunderstanding, the clergy-class speak about the objectives of Shari‘ah.

They rope in some political analysts, experts and intellectuals to rate various political parties.

The combined approximate ratings fell between 110 to 140/200.

In other words, theoretically these political parties—whether atheist, zionist or Muslim—fulfilled the objectives of Shari‘ah between 55% to 70%.

At least six of these parties have been in Parliament before and on their watch the reality is different to the objectives that Shari‘ah seeks to fulfill.

Let us briefly comment on the fulfilment of the objectives of Shari‘ah.

1: Justice: South Africa is the most unequal society in the world.

2: Conservation of Religion: SA is a secular state where no religion is favored over another.

3: Conservation of life: SA has among the highest violent murders in the world averaging 25,000 per year since 1994.

This figure is higher than most war zones and does not factor in war on the womb, i.e., abortion.

In South Africa, the war on the womb is intense via promotion of abortion.

The entire issue of LQBTQIA+ is another war on procreation and the regeneration of life. These are in direct conflict with the objectives of Shari‘ah.

4: Conservation of sound mind: South Africa has one of the highest alcohol consumption per capita in the world and that does not include drug abuse.

5: Conservation of lineage: The number of rapes (including child rape and incestuous rape) is among the highest in the world.

If one were to add the number of pregnancies during nights of drunken stupor and one-night stands, it is a total nightmare.

6: Conservation of property: Land invasion, including private property, hijacked buildings in the cities, hijacked homes, armed burglary, hijackings, etc., are rampant.

Property conservation is virtually non-existent unless people take extra security measures.

This happens in all communities when Islam is absent.

There is no rahmah/grace and mercy.

In Islam there is emphasis on grace and mercy in everything we do.

Everything we do begins with Bi ismi Allah Al Rahman Al Rahim.

This is opposite of Leftist-Marxist-Socialist revolutions in which they believe that the situation has to get really bad for a revolution to occur.

The Islamic Revolution begins with Bi ismi Allah Al Rahman Al Rahim and its first program is the intellectual revolution...

“Read, in the name of your Sustainer.”

Lastly, there is the Islamic Movement that rejects the method of all non-Islamic movements because they have no Qur’anic and Prophetic foundation.

The Islamic Movement may be operationally weak yet clear on setting a directional course and stands apart on principle from the combined programs of humiliation concocted by others.

The weak-in-Imaan Muslims’ understanding of Islam entrenches reliance upon, trust on and subservience to the contra-Islamic/anti-Islamic system in order to concoct a facade.

The contra-Islamic/anti-Islamic system can never be the bed-rock upon which Islam and stable society rests.

It can tumble over or crumble at any time.

Muslims are mandated by Allah to bring humanity out of darkness and into light.

Yet Muslims operating in the anti-Islamic system do not shine Islamic light on the darkness of a secular constitutional order.

They opt to work within the framework and limitations of a secular constitution.

The system of Islam is for all times and places. Its role is to replace states of kufr, shirk and dhulm.

Allah’s Prophet was not ducking and diving because the state he was born into was not Islamic?

He didn’t say “I’m in an Arabian ignocracy” and leave it at that.

He confronted, challenged and eventually changed the primitive autocratic state into which he was born.

His goal was not to change it into a democratic state.

It is curious to note that once the Muslims made hijrah for their existential survival to Abyssinia they are not even a footnote in Islam.

They become totally irrelevant to the destiny of Islam which revolves around the Prophet and those with him in Makkah and al-Madinah.

This is where Muslims become confused.

They want to be in the shoes of those Muslims in Abyssinia but not leave their comfort zones.

The Muslims in Abyssinia did not undermine the self-determination efforts of Muslims involved in active struggle against their oppressors.

They did not extend their welcome to those who stayed with the Prophet nor attempt to water down their revolutionary spirit.

Have they not read Allah’s Words: “And do not incline toward, and do not rely upon those who are set on injustice lest the Fire [of the hereafter] touch you: for [then] you would have none to protect you from Allah, nor would you ever be supported [by Him]” (The Ascendant Qur’an, Surah Hud, verse 113).
