One of the longest serving Israeli politicians, Shimon Peres, died earlier today in a Tel Aviv hospital after suffering a major stroke. He was 93 (how long did the blighter plan to live?). An earlier stroke two weeks ago had landed him in hospital.

As soon as news of his death was announced, accolades poured in from around the world.

President Barack Obama who is expected to attend Peres’ funeral on Friday (September 30) called him a "dear friend" in a statement, and said: "He was guided by a vision of the human dignity and progress that he knew people of goodwill could advance together."

Among others expected to attend his funeral would be Pope Francis, head of the Catholic Church, and Prince Charles of Britain.

Even the clown, Mahmoud Abbas, head of the US/Zionist created and backed Palestinian Authority sent a letter of condolence to Peres' family "expressing his sorrow and sadness."

In a statement, Abbas said: "Peres was a partner in creating the peace of the brave with the late President Yasser Arafat and Prime Minister Rabin, and has made intensive efforts to reach a long-lasting peace since the Oslo agreement and until the last breath.”

The Palestinian Islamic movement Hamas, that has suffered Zionist crimes for decades and not forgotten the role Peres played in inflicting misery on the Palestinian people. "Shimon Peres was one of the last Israeli founders of the occupation," Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri was quoted by the BBC as saying today. "His death marks the end of an era in the history of the Israeli occupation."

Who was Shimon Peres? When people die, there is a tendency to gloss over the crimes they have committed. Peres’ crimes were so egregious and so far-reaching in their consequences that it is impossible to ignore them.

He was illegal immigrant to Palestine. Born in 1923 in Wisniew, Poland (present-day Vishnyeva in Belarus) he came with his parents to British occupied Palestine in 1934 and settled on a kibbutz. David Ben-Gurion, who became Israel’s first prime minister, recognized his skills and took him under his wing as a protégé.

Unlike most other Israeli rulers, Peres was not a military man but his contribution to building the Zionist State’s war machine and more importantly, the nuclear bomb put above most others. Ben Gurion, a fellow Pole, tasked Peres with surreptitiously acquiring the wherewithal for a nuclear weapon. Today, Israel is an undeclared nuclear power but no Western country dare point this out, much less criticize it.

Despite being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize with the other war criminal Yitzhak Rabin and the clown Yasir Arafat in 1994 (for the 1993 Oslo Accords) Peres’ list of crimes is very long. He had plotted with Britain and France to attack Egypt in 1956 after then Egyptian strongman Gamal Abdel Nasir had nationalized the Suez Canal.

Peres was also the architect of the policy of delinking the Arabian regimes from the Palestinians through so-called peace treaties with Egypt (1978-1979) and Jordan (1994). This left the Palestinians isolated and even more vulnerable. As Prime Minister in 1996, Peres ordered the attack on the village of Qana in which more than 100 Lebanese civilians were butchered seeking shelter in a UN compound.

And it was Peres’ Centre for Peace (it is amazing how they can coin these names!) that proposed the idea of the New Middle East, part of whose plan was to destroy Hizbullah in July-August 2006. The toothy former US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice had echoed Peres’ words when she spoke about the Israeli onslaught on Lebanon as the “birth pangs of a new Middle East”.

The chaos that has engulfed the Middle East today is the direct result of Peres’ demonic thinking. No amount of whitewashing of these crimes cane erase the suffering, bloodshed and misery his policies have caused even if he always had a hypocritical smile on his face.

All those that have suffered at the hands of this man’s policies are praying that the Just Lord up there will give him his just desserts.
