Israeli occupation forces continue their macabre ritual of genocide of innocent Palestinian men, women and children.
Their blood-lust seems to know no bounds.
Since October 7, 2023, the zionists have slaughtered more than 37,000 Palestinians and injured at least 84,000 others.
Among the dead are some 15,000 children, perhaps more.
Concurrently, a new report by the UN independent human rights body says Israel has and continues to commit war crimes against the Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank.
The zionists are using starvation as a weapon of war.
Forcible transfer and intentionally directing attacks against civilians are other tactics used by the zionists, according to the UN report.
The UN human rights body has called on Israeli rulers—civilian and military—to immediately end attacks that have killed and maimed tens of thousands of civilians in Gaza.
End to Gaza’s siege, implementation of ceasefire and payment of reparations to Palestinians are other demands contained in the UN report.
The report also calls for the immediate and unconditional release of all Israeli prisoners held by Hamas.
Commenting on the Israeli attack at the Nuseirat camp on June 8, Jeremy Laurence, spokesperson for the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), said Israel’s actions had left human rights workers “deeply shocked.”
He said: “Hundreds of Palestinians, many of them civilians, were reportedly killed and injured. The manner in which the raid was conducted in such a densely populated area seriously calls into question whether the principles of distinction, proportionality and precaution, as set out under the laws of war, were respected by the Israeli forces.”
Recently released Palestinian civilians who were kidnapped from their homes by the Israeli occupation forces have narrated harrowing tales of torture.
These included inhumane treatment and abuse.
Palestinian hostages were blindfolded and handcuffed and locked up in small cages.
The zionists have kidnapped more than 9,100 Palestinians from the occupied West Bank since October 7, 2023.
Similarly, thousands have simply disappeared from the besieged Gaza Strip.
Palestinians released from Israel’s torture chambers have had to be hospitalized to recover from their injuries and psychological trauma.
One such detainee, Ataa Shbat speaking from the Kamal Adwan Hospital in Gaza, made an impassioned plea on behalf of those still held in Israel’s torture chambers.
Shbat expressed that many detainees thought they were presumed dead by their families.
“People are dying. Torture which you cannot imagine unless you taste it [experience it]. Suffering which you cannot imagine unless you experience it,” he recalled.
Another detainee, Aalam Hijazi said “prisoners were dying every day.”
He attributed torture and other degrading treatment inflicted on detainees that, coupled with lack of food and medicine, was allowing diseases to “eat their bodies.”
The zionist war criminals also injected some detainees with an unknown substance.
There is speculation that it may be slow poison that would paralyze detainees leading to their death.
Last week, Israel announced that it had begun transferring detainees from the notorious Sde Teiman prison, which was a former military outpost in the Naqab desert, after calls for the site’s closure.
Israel Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir called in April for the execution of Palestinian detainees as a way to address overcrowding in Israeli occupation prisons.
The UN Special Rapporteur on Torture, Alice Jill Edwards on June 6 expressed horror at credible reports of Israeli torture of detainees.
She called on the occupation forces to launch an investigation into multiple accounts of torture and other inhumane or degrading treatment of Palestinians in Israeli custody.
“The Israeli authorities must investigate all complaints and reports of torture and threats of physical and sexual violence promptly, impartially, effectively and transparently,” Ms. Edwards said.
She also highlighted the suffering inflicted on Palestinians from prolonged use of zip-tie handcuffs.
In April, UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini had accused zionist Israel of subjecting thousands of Palestinians detainees to inhumane treatment, including stripping them naked and threatening them with dogs.
This is what 14-year-old Majd Radwan from the town of Azzun in the Qalqilya Governorate in the West Bank suffered.
He was kidnapped on April 29 and brutally tortured including being threatened by a vicious dog.
He was blindfolded, kicked in his chest and head and almost choked to death.
Defense for Children International recorded his testimony.
