It was my first year attending the Quds Day rally in Toronto. Despite the hot weather and Ramadan, the participants’ enthusiasm was very high. I was also very impressed by the list of speakers — young and old, Muslims, Christians, and Jews. It was inspiring to see people from diverse backgrounds expressing solidarity with the suffering Palestinians and drawing attention to the continued occupation of al-Masjid al-Aqsa. There were men, women, and children as well as some very elderly people. I pray to Allah (swt) to accept their sincere efforts.
