Cowardly Arabian Rulers

Editor

The zionist war criminals in Tel Aviv will attack any country they perceive as getting in the way of their expansionist drive. In this demonic plot, they have the full backing of the US as well as most European regimes.

They have terrorized the hapless Palestinians for decades. Fed up with the zionists’ barbaric attacks that have turned into genocide, the Palestinians tried to break out of the concentration camp called Gaza. Illegal zionist squatters (aka “settlers”) backed by the brutal Israeli police and military have escalated their attacks on the Palestinians in the occupied West Bank as well.

Like rabid dogs, the zionists have attacked Lebanon, Syria, Yemen and Iran bringing the total number of victims to six. On September 9, the zionists launched an attack on the Hamas delegation meeting in Doha, Qatar, that was discussing the latest ceasefire proposal presented by the US. Hamas’s negotiating team survived but five other members of the movement were martyred, including the son of Khalil al-Hayya, head of the Hamas team. Also killed was a Qatari security official.

There should be no doubt in anyone’s mind that the Israeli strike was greenlighted by the other criminal entity, the US. Ruled by Donald Trump, a sociopath and a sexual predator, he has backed every Israeli crime in the region and beyond. We will not go into the details of why Trump greenlights every Israeli crime.

It is more pertinent to consider the response of the Arabian rulers to this latest zionist crime against one of them. The Qataris called a meeting of members of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and Arab League. It was held in Doha on September 15. The number of heads of state or government attending—almost 60—was impressive.

What did they propose to do against the zionist mad dog? Did they plan to attack the zionist entity to prevent it from committing further aggression? No such proposal was heard. Calls to break off diplomatic and trade relations with the zionist monstrosity also went unheeded.

Instead, the Arabian rulers appealed to the US, the “international community” and the UN Security Council to assume their responsibilities. If 60 countries with a combined population of some 2 billion people cannot stop 10 million zionist Jews from attacking them, then there is something seriously remiss.

Th Qatari Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani who hosted the meeting, lamented the fact that while his country was hosting a delegation of Hamas negotiators to respond to Trump’s latest ceasefire proposal, Israel attacked “a residence housing the families of Hamas leaders and their negotiating delegation.” He added that Israel was not interested in ending the war in Gaza, as it was trying “to thwart the negotiations”.

If the Qataris have arrived at this conclusion even at this late stage, it can be considered progress. The zionists are not interested in peace. Their mission is to create ‘Greater Israel’. They have made no secret of it. The zionists’ ‘Greater Israel’ project would include large parts of Lebanon, Syria, Egypt, the whole of Jordan, parts of Saudi Arabia including Makkah and al-Madinah, Turkiye and Iraq up to the Euphrates River. Naturally, this will not be achieved through negotiations but through war and killings.

Unforunately, other Arabian rulers attending the Doha summit were equally evasive about what they planned to do about Israeli aggression. The Egyptian pharaoh, General Abdel Fattah el-Sisi whose hands are drenched in the blood of innocent Egyptian people, issued an equally pathetic statement.

“The heinous attack on Qatari territory is a grave violation of international law and sets a dangerous precedent. I warn that Israel’s uncontrolled behaviour will exacerbate the conflict and destabilise the region,” he said.

“I say to the people of Israel that what is happening now is sabotaging the existing peace agreements, and the consequences will be dire,” el-Sisi added. Did he announce cutting off diplomatic relations with Israel? Perish the thought. Instead, el-Sisi said that Israel’s aggressive behaviour was becoming an impediment in the way of the ‘Abraham Accords’.

What about members of the Abraham Accords: the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Bahrain and Morocco, do they plan to withdraw their ambassadors from Tel Aviv?

There was defeaning silence from the Arabian trio. And Saudi crown prince Muhammad bin Salman (MbS), while present in Doha, opted not to address the gathering at all. Given that he considers himself the head of the Arabian rulers, his silence was strange and reflected his fear of the zionist war criminals.

Let us be clear, Israeli war planes flew over Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Iraq to attack Qatar where the US has Al-Udeid airbase. It is the largest US military base in the region. Israel could not have attacked Qatar without US approval. The unkindest cut was that British air tankers were provided fuel by Qatar that refueled Israeli warplanes on their return journey home. Did the Qataris lodge a complaint with Britain? Not a whisper of protest from the Beduoins.

The strongest words of condemnation and practical suggestions came from non-Arab leaders: Iran and Malaysia.

Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian said “… that Islamic countries cut [should] their ties with this fake regime and maintain unity and cohesion as much as possible.”

Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said that issuing mere words of condemnation or declarations will not do. “Condemnations will not stop the missiles. Declarations will not free Palestine. Severe, punitive actions must be put in place. Diplomatic engagements must cease, and so must relations with Israel,” he added.

Unfortunately, this is not what the Arabian rulers wanted to hear. They are terrified of antagonizing Israel or the US even when egregious crimes are committed against them. Such cowardice will further embolden the zionist war criminals. It should come as no surprise if the zionists carry out strikes against other Arabian regimes in the not too distant future.
