Continued suffering of the Afghans

Kamar Gul

Will the year 2016 see peace in Afghanistan? Strenuous efforts are underway to achieve peace through the efforts of Pakistan, Afghanistan, China, and the US, but it seems there are certain vested groups both inside and outside Afghanistan that do not want peace. Their interests are served by continued warfare and mayhem. To give peace a chance and bring an end to the decades-long suffering of the Afghan people, such groups and states must be exposed, key to which is that the US cannot be considered an honest broker. Nearly two generations of Afghans have been wasted in warfare. It is time to end this madness.
