Confronting sectarianism

Mohamed Mahmoud Ally

Sectarianism is being promoted deliberately to serve the interests of imperialism and Zionism. Muslims must wisen up.

It was good to read that Muslim scholars are confronting sectarianism by offering authentic information to the Ummah in an area where a large number of Muslims appear genuinely confused. The scourge of sectarianism is not new but its virulent form is deliberately promoted because it serves the agenda of some regimes in the Muslim world. Perhaps every Muslim should ask: whose purpose does it serve if Muslims are divided? Will such divisions promote the interests of the Muslim world or those of the enemies of Islam?

From this it follows that those who promote sectarian tensions that often lead to killing innocent people are agents of imperialism and Zionism. We should not shy away from naming those that promote this ideology of hate. At the forefront of this campaign to weaken Islam and the Muslims is the Saudi regime — a creation of colonialism. We must also keep in mind that it was only after division of the Muslim East into nation states by the colonial occupiers that the Zionist entity was implanted in Palestine as a permanent impediment to peace. Thus, these regimes are the flip side of the same coin as the Zionist entity.
