Waseem ShehzadAmericans are gradually waking up to the reality that their country is under Israeli occupation. This is done through what is referred to as the “Israel lobby”. Hitherto, such realization was confined to some academics and fringe groups. Their voices were smothered by the well-heeled Israel lobby and the zio-billionaire owned media.
Since October 2023, zionist war crimes in Gaza (that have spread to the West Bank as well) have led to awareness among a growing number of Americans that Israel is not the victim but the aggressor. And a really nasty one at that.
Another indication of this growing awareness is the emergence of the Anti-zionist America Public Affairs Committee (AZAPAC). It stands in opposition to the America-Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), an unregistered foreign agent entity. AIPAC operates illegally but nobody dares question it. Almost every member of Congress is in AIPAC’s pocket.
On its website, AZAPAC makes its position clear:
“Zionism has taken over the US government, as the constant subservience to Israel in word and deed makes eminently clear.
“Opposing Zionism in America means ridding the government of Zionists who serve Israel over the United States. This demands, among other measures, confronting and competing with entrenched lobbies like AIPAC, CUFI [Christians United for Israel], and J-Street. These groups bend US policy to favor foreign agendas. Zionist influence drains American resources, undermines US sovereignty, and runs counter to the interests of the American people. These and other powerful pro-Israel groups have captured most members of our political class, who extort money from US taxpayers, censor the voices of citizens and residents, and prioritize endless foreign entanglements over domestic prosperity.”
Spearheaded by a former New York University professor and author Michael Rectenwald, a self-described Libertarian, AZAPAC amassed more than 22,000 followers on X within a few months. On November 17, 2025, AZAPAC released a video ad calling for donations and volunteers to help it build momentum and counter pro-Israeli lobbying groups in the US.
In the video, Rectenwald says: “Our government acts like the servant of another country. That other country is, of course, the State of Israel.” The ad is overlaid with images of the Israeli flag outside several offices of members of the US Congress.
“That’s not policy. That’s a national disgrace,” he adds. “Their strings are pulled by donors loyal to the modern nation-state of Israel. This isn’t an alliance. It’s extortion.”
It is too early to tell how effective AZAPAC would be. Its emergence, however, reflects a growing realization that the US system and government have been hijacked by a tiny minority to serve the interests of a foreign entity.
The massive handouts to Israel as it perpetrates genocide in Gaza has caused a deep split in the MAGA movement, Trump’s core constituency. They see MAGA (Make America Great Again) turned into MIGA (Make Israel Great Again).
Influential voices within the MAGA movement—Tucker Carlson, Candace Owen, Megyn Kelly, Steve Bannon, Nick Fuentes and Marjorie Taylor Greene, among others—have questioned US financing of Israeli war crimes. They are also asking why America should wage wars on other countries at the behest of zionist Israel when those people have caused no harm to the US.
Tucker Carlson was dismayed when Senator Ted Cruz told him that he was elected “to serve the interests of Israel”. There is an entire army of senators and members of the House Representatives for whom Israeli interests take precedence over those of the US. And it cuts across party lines.
Since October 2023, the US has provided more than $33 billion in direct aid to Israel, most of it as military hardware. This is in addition to the $3.8 billion the US provides to Israel every year. Then there is the Jewish billionaires’ money pipeline, also running into tens of billions of dollars annually.
While billions of dollars flow to Israel every year, an estimated 36.8 million Americans live below the poverty line. Millions are homeless and do not have medical insurance. Trump has threatened to cut off SNAP benefits (aka food stamps) that help the needy and poor while American tax dollars support Israelis enjoying free healthcare and education.
This brings us to the question of western democracy and more particularly, American democracy. It is often presented as the best mechanism to establish a representative form of government that reflects the aspirations of the people. The US, Britain and India are cited as examples of democracy at work.
Even if we set aside Greg Palast’s perceptive description of America as “the best democracy money can buy”, a deeper analysis beyond formal appearances reveals a radically different reality. Far from being a neutral system arbitrating between competing visions of society, democracy constitutes the political superstructure meticulously designed to administer and perpetuate the domination of the military-industrial-banking complex.
In essence, American democracy contains a fundamental contradiction: it proclaims formal political equality (“one man, one vote”) while structurally consecrating and reproducing the most profound economic inequality.
The US president who wields immense powers, is “selected” through the electoral college system. Thus, even the concept of “one man, one vote”, despite being heavily constrained, is dispensed with in reality.
Minorities—whether ethnic, linguistic or religious (barring the “chosen race”, of course)—are despised. This is expressed through a structural racism that constantly blames minorities for all the ills of society.
Trump is a prime example of this. He is not an aberration. Witness how he constantly blames immigrants for America’s economic woes. Prices have jumped while jobs have disappeared. His tariff wars against other countries have caused massive disruption to trade leading to higher prices.
He has given massive tax breaks to the oligarchs—most of them contributors to his campaign (remember Sheldon and Mariam Adelson and Elon Musk?). These are designed to make the rich richer while the poor go deeper into poverty. It is not by chance. It is a welfare system for the rich bailing them out with massive handouts, but raw capitalism with its attendant inequalities for the poor.
The State machinery—whether the Democrats or Republicans are in power—is designed to protect the grossly unfair practices of the oligarchs. Notice how the US has only two political parties. No third party is allowed to emerge. The media, also controlled by zio-billionaires, is rigged in such a way as to ensure that the masses do not hear about other parties or candidates.
In fact, even the two-party system is a sham. “There is only one party,” as the anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan said. “And that is the war party.” One could go further. Regardless of the label a party carries, it is always the pro-Israel party that is in power.
It is for the American people to rescue their country from the zionist parasites. Failing that, the US, already teetering on the brink, would collapse much sooner.
The choice is theirs.
