Boycotting Indian goods is a peaceful way to express one’s abhorrence at the Modi regime’s atrocious crimes in Kashmir. It can also hit them where it hurts: in their pockets. There are millions of Muslims residing in Europe and North America. The EU is India’s largest trading partner, even ahead of China and the US, while India ranks ninth as the EU’s trade partner. Two-way trade is in excess of 90 billion euros. India-US trade stands at nearly $88 billion with India exporting $54.4 billion to the US and importing only $33 billion causing much angst in Washington. Canada imports $3 billion in goods from India.
It is time for all justice-loving people to boycott Indian goods to send a strong message to the fascists in India that their conduct is unacceptable. Political and moral lepers should not be allowed to do business as usual. The boycott campaign offers unique opportunity for a very large number of people to support a noble cause. This will also send a clear message to the oppressed Kashmiri people that they are not alone in their just struggle for freedom and dignity.
