Canada’s intelligence agency, the ‘Canadian Security Intelligence Agency’ [CSIS] often indulges in behavior outside its mandate that most people find intimidating. 1Is Islamophobia on the rise in Canada as well in the wake of the racist Islamophobic rhetoric of Donald Trump south of the border? The June 20 assault by an ugly woman on a hijabi sister at a London, ON supermarket definitely gives cause for concern. The assailant has been charged but not with hate crime; only assault. From what has transpired, it definitely appears to be a hate crime.
1Canadians will not be able to see Saudi camels on Parliament Hill in Ottawa, after all. The Saudi embassy abruptly cancelled the so-called cultural event citing "logistical reasons". Really, or they feared massive protests that would have exposed their true nature as barbarians and public head-choppers? Whatever the reason, no camels in Ottawa this spring or summer. Good!
