People in Occupied Kashmir and their supporters around the world observed the first anniversary of Burhan Wani’s martyrdom on July 8. Indian occupation troops fearing protests imposed round the clock curfew in all major cities as well as blocked all Internet services.
Burhan Wani was a young charismatic Kashmiri freedom fighter. He was martyred on July 8, 2016 but his sacrifice led to the reinvigoration of the struggle for freedom in Kashmir.
At the conclusion of the two-day International Parliamentary Seminar on Kashmir on January 6, 2017, a ringing declaration was issued condemning Indian atrocities against the innocent people of Jammu and Kashmir.
A meeting in Toronto on November 5, 2016, commemorated the July 8 tragic killing of young resistance leader, Burhan Wani. He was 22 when shot and killed by Indian occupation forces in a remote village. Two of his colleagues were also killed in the late night raid.
3While the Kashmiris valiantly resist the brutal Indian occupation, their friends around the world need to develop a coherent strategy to help them overcome one of the most brutal militaries in the world.
1Kashmiris are again being targeted by one of the most ruthless regimes in the world. The Indian occupation troops have introduced a new weapon this time: pellet guns that spray hundreds of steel-tipped bullets that have blinded hundreds of people.
1There has been widespread revulsion at Indian crimes in Kashmir. Over the past two weeks, there has again been an escalation in violence by the Indian army of occupation against innocent Kashmiris. Hundreds of Canadians of all backgrounds also added their voices to condemn the violence and brutality unleashed by the Indian occupation army on the Kashmiri people. A rally was held outside the Indian Consulate July 16 to condemn India.
