With guns blazing, the zionist terrorist army has attacked Gaza’s Al-Shifa Hospital, the largest in the besieged enclave.
Young children and elderly patients alike are being terrorized on the spurious claim that the hospital serves as Hamas’s command centre.
This scandalous allegation has not only been denied by Hamas but also by the medical staff at the hospital.
The zionist war criminals and their American backers have provided no proof for their allegation.
Nor do they feel the need to do so.
They insist their allegations are proof enough.
These allegations are of the same order as that of the discredited “beheaded babies” story and Hamas fighters killing Israeli civilians.
Even Israeli sources have refuted these allegations but that has not prevented the zionists or their western backers from parroting them.
“Hospitals are not battlegrounds,” the UN’s undersecretary-general for humanitarian affairs and emergency relief coordinator, Martin Griffiths, stated on X.
“The protection of newborns, patients, medical staff and all civilians must override all other concerns,” he said.
Such declarations are contemptuously dismissed by the arrogant zionists who have the backing of the US.
Most of the weapons the Israeli army and air force are using against defenceless Palestinian civilians are American-supplied.
In Al-Shifa Hospital, premature babies are dying because there is no fuel to run the equipment supplying oxygen to incubators.
Al-Shifa, like most other hospitals in Gaza, have run out of medicines, fuel and clean water.
Thousands of civilians have sought refuge in the hospital that is under constant attack by zionist forces.
The US is complicit in these Israeli war crimes.
On November 13, a federal complaint (PDF), against US President Joe Biden, Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin.
The complaint accuses them of “failure to prevent and complicity in the Israeli government’s unfolding genocide.”
New York civil liberties group the Center for Constitutional Rights (CCR) filed the suit on behalf of Palestinian human rights organisations, Palestinians in Gaza and US citizens with relatives in the besieged enclave.
The 2.3 million Palestinians have faced more than five weeks of relentless bombardment by Israel.
The US regime is the biggest financier and weapons supplier to Israel.
In addition to the $3.8 billion in annual aid to Israel, the US has just approved another $14.3 billion to enable Israel to continue its genocidal policy in Gaza.
The Palestinian death toll in Gaza has surpassed 11,500 since Israel launched its murderous attacks on October 7.
Nearly 70 percent of those killed in Israel’s bombardment are women and children.
Most of Gaza’s infrastructure has also been destroyed.
“Numerous Israeli government leaders have expressed clear genocidal intentions and deployed dehumanizing characterizations of Palestinians, including ‘human animals’,” the CCR wrote in the introduction to its complaint.
Three Palestinian human rights organizations—Al-Haq, Al-Mezan and the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights—have lodged a formal case against Israel at the International Criminal Court (ICC) for war crimes.
Unfortunately, the ICC is not likely to do anything about Israeli crimes.
There is much greater chance of success in the US since the case against the three top officials is clear cut.
It will, however, take a long time to work its way through the court.
