US edging toward civil war

As the US empire continues to decline, domestic situation is also beginning to resemble a prelude to civil war.

As reported by the British daily, The Independent, “elected officials in Portland have called on the Trump administration to remove militarized federal agents from the city following reports of protesters being arbitrarily detained… Oregon attorney general Ellen Rosenblum said she would file a lawsuit in federal court against the Department of Homeland Security, the Marshals Service, Customs and Border Protection and Federal Protection Service alleging they have violated the civil rights of Oregonians by detaining them without probable cause. She will also seek a temporary restraining order against them.”

Militarized US police have been out in full force in multiple cities cracking down on people protesting systemic racism and other forms of institutionalized oppression in the US.

With presidential elections around the corner and Donald Trump’s not so subtle declaration that he might not leave office if he loses the election, the US might find itself in a situation very similar to what it has created in many South American and West Asian countries.
