Starving Yemeni Children

Fehmida Usman

It is unconscionable to see Yemeni children dying before our eyes. If they have not been afflicted by disease, hunger — the modern form of man-imposed disease — is taking a heavy toll. Pictures of emaciated Yemeni children show harrowing scenes as they slowly die before the very eyes of their parents, especially mothers.

The Saudis are directly responsible for this tragedy. Starving children to death constitutes crimes against humanity. Saudi officials who have imposed this policy on Yemen must be arrested and subjected to the same degree of starvation that they have subjected the innocent Yemeni children to. Then they will realize what it means to go without food and medicines. In fact, it will do them a great deal of good, reducing their protruding bellies before they begin to feel the pangs of hunger.

If there are Muslims who still harbor any illusions about the Saudis’ criminal nature, the Yemeni tragedy should disabuse their minds of such nonsense. Saudi rulers are the enemies of Allah (swt), His Prophet (pbuh) and the Muslim Ummah. Let there be no mistake about it. If any Muslim is unaware of this, he/she should await Allah’s due compensation on the Day of Judgement.
