Netanyahu sabotages truce deal with Hamas in attempt to escape jail

Crescent International

Netanyahu should be behind bars in prison, not in the prime minister's office of the illegitimate entity.

Benjamin Netanyahu would rather kill thousands of more innocent Palestinian civilians than accept a truce deal with Hamas because that would lead to his arrest and a long jail term.

Talks in Cairo for a truce deal appeared close to collapse because Netanyahu refused to agree to a ceasefire.

Instead, he wants Hamas to release Israeli prisoners while he insists on continuing the war.

Hamas leadership is not prepared to accept such ludicrous demands.

It wants an end to the war in exchange for freeing Israeli prisoners.

With Netanyahu showing ass-like stubbornness, the Hamas delegation left Cairo to consult with senior leadership on future steps.

Even while truce talks were underway in Cairo, Israeli warplanes bombed several residential areas in Rafah, the southern Gaza city, killing 10 civilians, among them children.

In their talks with Egyptian and Qatari mediators, Hamas negotiators made clear that any truce agreement must end the war.

Netanyahu’s demand that Hamas disarm and dismantle for good is completely outlandish.

If his military machine could not achieve this in seven months of fighting, why should Hamas surrender to his demands in truce talks?

Netanyahu considers Hamas’s demand to remove all Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip, end the war, and leave Hamas in power, as “extreme positions”.

He fails to see that it is his position that is extreme.

Many sober Israelis do not agree with him, knowing full well that the zionist entity has lost the war.

Netanyahu is like a gerbil on a treadmill.

The faster he runs, the more he stays on the same spot, exhausting himself.

He is beset by a number of challenges: corruption charges, fraud and the ever-hanging threat of an arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court.

Each one would result in a long prison sentence.

He would rather continue the war than go to jail.

Events, however, are fast slipping out of his control.

The Israeli society is deeply divided.

Despite its indescribable brutality, the army has lost the war.

It has failed to achieve any of the objectives set for it by the political leadership.

The generals know it; only Netanyahu and his band of neo-Nazi allies in the cabinet refuse to accept it.

The attrition rate in the army is so high that it is demanding that Haredi Jews be drafted into the military.

There are 1.3 million of them. Their rabbis have refused to countenance any such suggestion.

They have threatened to leave Israel for good if this policy is instituted.

And then there are the families of Israeli prisoners. They want their loved ones brought back.

Only Netanyahu is standing in the way.

That explains the almost daily protests outside Netanyahu’s office demanding that he accept a ceasefire deal so that the prisoners can return home.

Netanyahu is not only digging his own grave but also preparing the ground for Israel’s demise.
